Hi All,
New to this forum. We have had the privilege to have a resident duck whom we have hand fed the last couple of years, lay in my flower bed. I live in an area with access to a pond. She had 12 babies, she took them to the pond and her and the drake kept watch. Well in that process 6 babies have not made it. 4 of those babies were recent because her and the drake have left them alone at night while roosting elsewhere. So that leads to my dilemma. I want to see if anyone is interested in re homing these last 6 babies. We had no intention of raising ducks, but certainly do not have the heart to let them be racoon food, and now trying to keep them safe and happy outside in the yard and garage at night when the racoons come out, this is not ideal as we have dogs too. There are 6 Muscovy babies, a little over 4weeks old. They cannot fly yet and Mom has pretty much abandoned them and laying AGAIN in my yard. Any suggestions, or places where I can take to live a safe and happy duck life? I am in North Austin, tx
