That's not a D'Anvers. It has a single comb, & the color is wrong. I see no visible beard either.Ope, sorry. I’m fairly new to posting on here. Thanks again about my D’uccle I literally was JUST able to order two before they were fulfilling the order.

I just took some better pix right now. I think you‘re right, pinking up daily. I’m plagued with sweet males I can’t keepThat's not a D'Anvers. It has a single comb, & the color is wrong. I see no visible beard either.
Comb looks a bit pink, but it's small. I'll suggest waiting longer for this one.
If it's a D'Anvers, then it has the wrong comb type. It should be a rose comb.I just took some better pix right now. I think you‘re right, pinking up daily. I’m plagued with sweet males I can’t keep. Do have any idea what bantam it could be? I ordered both self-blue d’anvers and this is suppose to be blue quail Belgian D’anver…..
Omgosh, the hatchery descripiton also says rose comb “Belgian Bearded d'Anvers originated in Belgium and are recognizable for their thick and full muffs. They are "True Bantams" without counterparts in standard varieties. Blue Quail Belgian d'Anver bantam chicks hatch in three different colors: black, dark gray and light gray. They have gold faces and muffs, rose combs and clean, gray legs and feet. Adult females have bluish black heads tinged with yellow, while the hackles are bluish black laced with golden bay. The front of the neck, breast and body are brownish yellow and the back, tail coverts and wings are slaty blue laced with golden bay. The main tail and wing primaries and secondaries are slaty blue. Adult males have blue heads and backs laced with golden bay, while the hackle plumage is blue with only the upper part having golden bay lacing. The front of the neck, lower thigh and breast are brownish yellow, and the body plumage is the same color with the feathers shading to grayish yellow. The tail is blue, and the wing coverts form two wing bars that are light golden bay tipped with blue.”If it's a D'Anvers, then it has the wrong comb type. It should be a rose comb.
Blue Quail looks right now, now that I know that's a color option for them.

Does that mean it’s mixed somewhere up the line? I just took pix of the self-blue and she? (Thinking it is a she?) has the rose comb. Thank you for pointing that out. I will check the other blue quail d’anver when it arrives. The blue quail is so sweet and the self blue spastic![]()
