4x8 coop

I can't remember but I do believe we made mine 6x6 and I put a 2x4 straight down the middle for a roosting bar . I have 6 nesting boxes on each side . Sorry I don't really have any inside photos right now .

We have a 6x8 elevated, walk-in coop. We decided on a hinged ladder roost. It can be raised and secured in the raised position for cleaning. There is one east facing window, a people door (with included pop door). And outside accessible nest boxes.

not yet finished. It now has a roofed run for 25’ to the right (north), and 6’ to the left (

Nest boxes are 2 level and small and large. Big breeds need more space, and they will go in together sometimes. The bottom boxes are floor level. The upper boxes have a landing roost in front.

My coop is 4x8, and built on a trailer. Pictures 3 & 4 are during the construction phase, before painting and the metal roof was on.

This looks a lot like the plan I’m working on. Is that a rubberized sealant on the lower part of the studs?

Yes, it's Black Jack#57. 2 coats on floor and up about a foot to seal and waterproof (my walls are Tyvek so no need to use Black Jack on them). So far it's held up very well to everything from metal rakes and shovels to paint scrapers.

im converting a shed into a split coop/storage space. the coop space is going to be roughly 4x8. what type of flooring is best? It currently has a plywood floor, and im wanting to put something down before bedding. Its nowhere near ready; im just getting materials in place to start it this week.
Thoughts? Ideas? My husband was thinking livestock mats, or whatever the giant rubber mats are called. im worried about moisture getting underneat it, etc.
