appear to be moulting, and even those who have had very red combs and wattles for a month or more now, have yet to lay an egg. We are in Phoenix, AZ, just coming off a really hot summer, so I'm wondering, are they really moulting, or just growing in their full adult feathers? Do they lay heavier in the cool months in Phx and slow down during our real hot summers? Thanks for any insight you can give me.

They do range in the yard, but my yard is quite small, and I regularly check their favorite "spots", just in case. They have been going into the nest boxes for about a week now, but no eggs yet.
