5 Buff Orpington and 5 Black Australorps Chicks - Beginner question

cement blocks would work good. i have used them to as base then cardboardto make walls higher and the blocks on the inside to hold the cardboard laying on side so the hole can be used for little hiding places and beds...dont want the holes up as they can get stuck in there..

How long are you planning on keeping the chickens in the totes? Also, are your chicks going to be as large as Orpington and Australorps?
