5 chickens - only 1 egg a day

I have 5 5 month old rir hens. They started laying 17 days ago and I was getting 1 egg for about 5 days and then 2 a day. The last week it's back down to just one a day. Is this normal I feel like 3 to 5 a day at 5 months should be the norm??

yes both. my orpingtons didnt start until almost 6.5 months old.
And at first it is sporatic, it takes a few weeks for their system to get up and running to laying every day (or almost every day)
