The 2 beautiful chicks in the background... brown/striped/spotted.. any clue? I love them! (Any info on the other 3 would be helpful too, but the 2 in the back are the ones that have the most fascinating markings!) These are my first ever ever ever chickens I've raised. I'm raising them in my bathtub for another 4 weeks before putting them out to a chicken tractor and then free range with a very safe fenced and covered yard.

I can't tell the breed, but I think the feather pattern of the 2 chicks in the back will be a golden pencilled. Perhaps golden pencilled hamburg, golden campine, or sicillian buttercup, or some other breed that comes in golden pencilled pattern.

The 2 in the back look like my speckeled sussex, along with a barred rock and a white leg horn

I don't think so. Google images of speckled sussex chicks and see what you think. They have stripes on the face, not dots. Then google images of golden pencilled hamburg chicks. To my eye, it's a match, but other breeds come in that same feather pattern. To narrow it down, we would need to know comb type. Also color of legs would help. They look yellow in the pic, but sometimes color changes as chick grows. So comb type and an update on leg color would be useful.

I don't know where you got your chicks, but I did something very helpful when trying to identify my mystery chick. I got a shipment of chicks from Mc Murray Hatchery and looking at the mystery chick, it looked the same size as the other bantam chicks I got, so I figured it was a bantam. It didn't have feathers on its legs, so I scratched those breeds. Then I looked at the pictures of the clean-legged bantam chicks they had on their website and lo and behold, I identified my chick as a silver sebright. Maybe you could look at the standard clean-legged chicks on McMurray, but yours look about 2+weeks old.

I have a couple Arucana chicks with similar head markings as your 2 but the wings look like my mille fleurs..

Here are the 5 again ten days later.. as you can see, the little chipmunk marking ones have completely changed! Any idea what kind of chicks I have?? (black, yellow/white, rusty brown, 2 dark speckled ones)
