I am sorry about your losses. I will say that I have found Speckled Sussex to be pretty susceptible to shipping stress. I had my first shipment of chicks arrive mid-January and none of the SS made it. I picked some up locally to replace them when they became available and they are really awesome birds...just a smidge fragile.

Thank you. That's interesting--I wondered if they might not be as hearty as the other breeds we bought since the majority of the ones who died were sussex. The other chicks seem to be doing pretty well.
