5 day eggtopsy

I should be seeing veins and a fetus after 5 days if the eggs are fertile correct? I got anxious after candling last night, and cracked two. No signs of any veins or anything. Possible fertility problem?

probably, how long have the rooster and hens been together?

They were raised together. The group of them just turned a year old recently. I have noticed plenty of mating activity so he might just not be getting the job done.
