5 day old chick treats

Can anyone tell me whether or not you can give your new chicks treats?

IMO I would let them get at least a week before any treats. And add chick grit when you do.

Likely a mistake, but you posted under New Members, so I cannot help but to welcome….

You may get more responses by posting under raising baby chicks.

I would wait until the chicks were at least a week, and probably closer to two weeks, before letting them have human food or treats.

I agree with the other posters here. Let them grow up a bit and concentrate on eating their chick feed. In a couple weeks you can start with some tiny treats. Make sure to add grit to their diet when you do start to add other things.

Welcome to the BYC flock- I wouldn't rush them - once you start feeding treats it can get out of hand - then the chicks will turn up their beaks at their nutritional feed. The will act like kids with candy.
