I got four silkie chicks on monday. They were born on easter. Now all of them look to be loosing the fluff on their wings. I can see the things(not sure what you call them) that the feathers are attached to. All of them have it, when you pull out their wings the fluff is gone on the bottom part. I don's see them bullying each other and see no peck marks or anything. Is this just in prep to get their feathers? I have seen it in my bigger chickens when they are moulting. Any help appreciated!

I can see no one answered to your post, and I am wondering if you help at all anymore, but your Wilkie is just loosing her fluff because she is growing her feathers out. The pin feathers you were seeing were just the beginning for her new wing feathers. She will loose all her fluff, but feathers will replace them. Not sure if this is helpful anymore, considering the time the post came out!
