5 day old duckling with hurt leg

Awesome keep us updated..

It's NOT a slipped tendon! Thank God! The vet couldn't be sure what it is but was certain her tendons are where they are supposed to be. She's actually doing a bit better today and was trying to stand. She even stood for the vet. He gave me something for pain and inflammation and said keep up with the swims. I hope this works. She's such a sweet ducky.

I am so thankful too it really didn't look like slipped tendon but I know we can sure worry when we don't know. Maybe just a big sprain they take a long time to heal also. Hope the meds help and of course the swims.

Great to hear she is a bit better.
Thanks so much for updating and please keep it up, and we need some pics of all your babies. We love baby pics.

I had the same problem with one of my ducks. I think my 5 yr old dropped her. I separated her from the other ducks so she didn't have to fight to get her food or water. After about 3 weeks, she was walking normal again. She is now 6 months old and she does limp every now and then. Butother than that, she is fine.

Thank you so much for your help. You just feel so helpless when you can fix it right away. I hope she can recover. She was so good at the vet. I also had to take her to my dentist appt after and the was the star of the office (I live in the country..lol)

Thank you. That makes me feel better. I'm keeping her separate too, but her bff keeps jumping over. Lol
