We processed 5 birds yesterday. 4 as game hens for Christmas and 1 for the cat.
The cat's bird had one bad leg when he was a week old so we separated him and nursed him along, then he lost the other leg. I figured with all the flopping he would be bruised and blistered but he wasn't. But I promised the cat. Nah he is not spoiled
Anyhow on to the bragging. My 11 son helped me dispatch the birds. This was our first time killing any animals. We used the ax method because I figured I could not screw it up. My son did very well holding the birds down. He psyched himself out by the fourth bird, but he pulled it together on the fifth. I am proud of him, he had a tough job that he did not want to do but he manned up and did it.
