If your mom could have water out for the ducks to drink, that will be the main thing they need. Ducks are wearing down coats so they take the cold weather very well. Dog and cat food is okay to feed them for a while until they find a new home. Corn is good, as Nettie said, to help them through the really cold times. It is also pretty inexpensive, a 50 pound bag at the feed store will only cost $6-7 and last a long time with only 5 ducks.
I will spread the word more around the pet-duck world too.
You might try craigslist as a way of finding a home or even contact the local animal shelter for ideas of sanctuaries in the area. Thank you and your parents for caring about these poor little guys. The prior owner should and could be prosecuted for abandoning animals.
