I am hoping someone who has raised Buffs can give me piece of mind.
I am posting a pic of Fluff, one of my new Buff chicks.
5 months old, and SHE (I hope) is sporting a big comb. She is bigger than my other one. She does not have tail feathers, or spurs to mention, but that comb! She has not attempted to crow, but bawks like my other hens. All my Buffs have pointier saddle feathers, so that does not seem to be an indicator.
Could she still be a Roo?

. So far, still no crowing. The one with the big comb also squats down when you go to pick her up, my son SWEARS that means she is a girl
I just LOVE the thrill of finding that first egg!!! My silkies just started layin too!!!
