5 Month Old Chicken, Pretty Sure It's A He.

Hello once again BYC!

I have a [somewhat] serious dilemma [i think]. I rescued 3 EE's from an abandoned lot about 2 months ago, the chickens were the same size as my 3 month old Sultans, so I'm assuming they were about 3 mo at the time.
ANYWAYS, one of the chickens, who I've named Melee, is HUGE. They have thick legs, have look pretty much the same as my other EEs until now. No crowing has happened yet, BUT I think I see sickle and saddle feathers. ._.
I stared a little to long and all of my chickens butts started to look the same.

Second opinion?

When will he start crowing [if they're a he]?

I've had roosters before, but all the others developed a serious comb and wattles situation, like seriously, this dude(?) has nothing on their face!

Does anyone know what I can do with him? That such a common question, but I live in Phoenix AZ and have not heard of any places that adopt chickens.

Also, if I have to be that guy, what age will he be ready to process OR are their any places that I can take him to get processed?

That's a pullet. With the straight comb, you're more likely to get brown or cream colored eggs instead of blue or green, but that's an egger, not a crower.

I agree. Sickle feathers are usually much longer and more curved on roosters; some hens have have longer tail feathers, like Leghorns. Like donrae mentioned, the comb is more like that of a hen, not a rooster.

Blue egg laying chickens usually have pea combs, but since yours has a single comb, chances are she will lay brown or cream eggs

Yeah... I know they do, she just came to me with a bunch of normal looking fluffy faced pea combed ees so I just call her that. she's the odd one out. Glad everyone just thinks she's a pullet!
Here's a picture of her sister by the way, which is mainly why I was confused about sex, theirs a lot of postural differences.
