1) What type of bird , age and weight (does the chicken seem or feel lighter or thinner than the others.) Silkie, 5months old, much lighter than others.

2) What is the behavior, exactly.
Typical sickness behaviors, drinking very little , not eating crumbles or mash but would eat a few bites of bread from my hand. Fluffed up/ standing around. When I pick her up it scares her a little bit so she’s alert.
3) How long has the bird been exhibiting symptoms?
About 5 days.
4) Are other birds exhibiting the same symptoms?
No
5) Is there any bleeding, injury, broken bones or other sign of trauma.
Not that I can see or feel.
6) What happened, if anything that you know of, that may have caused the situation.
Nothing I know of
7) What has the bird been eating and drinking, if at all.
Refer to #2
8) How does the poop look? Normal? Bloody? Runny? etc.
Theres not much but a little more white than normal but solid
9) What has been the treatment you have administered so far? Just separated from flock brought her inside.
10 ) What is your intent as far as treatment? For example, do you want to treat completely yourself, or do you need help in stabilizing the bird til you can get to a vet?
Treat myself.
11) If you have a picture of the wound or condition, please post it. It may help.
12) Describe the housing/bedding in use.
Right now a dog crate and pine shavings.

Does anyone have any suggestions? I trimmed her feathers around her eyes when I first brought her inside and she ran over to bowl of mash but didn’t eat much. Her crop has not been full in the 3-4 days she’s been inside . I don’t feel anything in it. I don’t want her to starve. I don’t believe she’s laying yet. I felt all over inspecting her body but felt nothing.

Any ideas or suggestions are greatly appreciated!! Thank you

You really need to get some fluid and calories into her now. Offer a little water with sugar, and dip her beak. Electrolytes with vitamins, something like Poultry Nutridrench, Save a Chick, Rooster Booster, etc, or even Gatorade are good. Mix a bit of her chicken feed with water and hold it up to her beak. Cooked scrambled egg, tuna, canned cat food are good to tempt, but fluids should be given first to get her hydrated. Is she having any trouble walking? What do poops look like?

Thank you so much for responding . I’m making some eggs for her Rte now. I will continue trying to keep her hydrated.. Her poop looks normal/solid but with a little more white than normal.
