I posted earlier when i first got him( thought it was a her), nobody could give a good guess on what he is. He's gotten bigger and has alot of 'rooster' feathers now, thought I would repost and see if anybody could tell.

his two long tail feathers are turning white
Pink beak and legs, single comb, standard size, blue on wings, tail, and back of neck, gold cuckoo

Gonna take a wild guess and say a crossbred. Is he a bantam or large fowl? He looks like a cross between the two to me.

That isn't a Norwegian Jaerhon is it? They are a little smaller that a Leghorn so the roostershould be about the same size as the Leghorn hen.

I don't know, but all the birds on that page had yellow legs/beaks. He has red lobes and they had white. So i'm guessing he's a brown egger? He came from an amish auction in Maryland (dout that helps any though).

How would you tell what color egg a (mixed breed) rooster "lays"? Aren't brown and blue more dominate than white? I guess I could breed him to my leghorn and then see what color the hens layed, but that takes a while, (but it also gives my an excuse to hatch out some eggs)

I've had jaerhon roos and I have a couple of pullets. I really doubt any in him but I know what you're talking about in the hackle vs. body coloration.
Sorry chickensaresweet, I can't tell you yet but I hope to know how good they lay in the next month.
