I'm getting 5 eggs on most days now from my 18 week old bantams. I have 4 EE's, 1 cochin, 1 seabright, and 3 brahmas. I only know that 2 EE's are laying...the lite blue and lite brown. I still have yet to catch who is laying the olive and 2 dark browns.

and they are so yummy. (I really have to stop taking pictures of my breakfast...they all think I'm crazy...and I think they're right)

Lovely eggs! And delicious looking breakfast!!! Don't you just love those colored eggs? I get such a kick out of them!

I do too! My son originally asked for the EE's but I think they're awesome, so I am getting more! Wife won't like it but she does like the eggs!

who is laying the darker brown eggs?

Someday when i can get more chicks, i would like that darker brown.
I thought only the Marans laid the dark eggs.

thanks,

I don't know yet. I keep going out there to catch them laying and all I ever see are the same 2 EE's in the nesting boxes. One lays the blueish and the other lays the lite brown. So far it's a mystery...but I know that 2 chickens can't be laying 5 different colored eggs so 3 other chickens must be doing something.

Your eggs are the same colors my girls produce. They make for some gorgeous egg cartons and my egg customers love the "designer colors"!

I think my three EE's are the sweetest and most tame and sociable of all of my hens, and each one has her characteristic egg color, from deep olive, to light green to turquoise blue.

I got a big chuckle out of your pictorial sequence! And it made me hungry, too!

Very pretty, but you need some white and dark brown in there.
