I cannot eat or keep the girls. They have stopped laying. They have always had organic food, plenty of yard time and fresh greens. They are in a large coop. The other day 4 started pecking on one who is not in poor health. I am keeping her separated.

They could be pets or harvested. I would prefer to have them leave my yard intact.

They have been well cared for. I hope that someone will be able to use them for another need.

How long ago did they stop laying? I believe I'm in your state, based on the Glendale; could it just be the heat? I thought Production breeds could lay for a long time. Not doubting you at all or anything! Just wondering if the poor birds are okay in the heat. It's definitely been a hot, hot summer out here.
