my local breeder is going to sell me 5 barred rock bantams all cockerels. I have never owned chickens! Can I put 5 roosters together with no hens? or 2 or 3 or 4 with no hens? Thanks!

Is there a particular reason why you are only getting 5 cockerels?

I suppose it could work alright if they have been raised together. Are they together currently? If no to the above, then rioting and fights are certain to break out at some point...and they will be bad.
If you do eventually get some hens, your happy bachelors will then begin to fight. The hens wont be to happy either. It would take a big group of girls to keeps 5 boys occupied enough to leave each other alone and not run the girls completely ragged!
Good luck!

they have all been raised together. my coop will only fit about 5 so i might just get 1 of those and 4 hens. can you cross breed any 2 breeds or mix any 2 breeds? and if you have ur hens sit rather than using an incubator does she take care of raising them or do i still have to brooder ect.

Yes, like dog breeds you can cross any of them.

No, if you have broody hens they will raise the chicks

4 hens for a bantam rooter? good or bad? also if i get the hens later how do i transition them in with the solitary roo?
