5 Tips for Photographing Chickens

Oooh I love this post!! I totally agree with all those tips. I've always loved photographing my cats, dog, and the neighbors dogs so when I got chickens I thought it wouldn't be very hard. Boy, was I wrong! They are such difficult subjects! Here's a few of my best pics:

These three are from my homecoming this year with my best friend and our favorite girl, Tot. Oh & yes, our dates thought it was hilarious (and strange) we weren't afraid to get our dresses dirty as long as we got a picture with our girls!

Thanks for the tips! My chickens are usually calm -- until the camera comes out!

And of course some hens are total hams ^

Chickens are always moving so it's always a challenge to get a photo of them that isn't blurry!

What breed is the hen in the 6th picture - she's gorgeous! Also, I might be mistaken but is that rooster a salmon faverolle (they are my favorite breed)? He looks like one but I can't see feathers on his leg. Either way, gorgeous!!

And no, the rooster is an Easter Egger. I've never raised salmon feverolles, but I think they are so pretty, in fact I have them on my ''breeds I'd some day like to get'' list. Are they good layers/docile?

What lovely pictures! Thank you so much for sharing. I love Sunshine and her pose for the camera!

Oh, I love our Salmon Faverolles! They are so sweet and docile. Ours lay very well and their hatching rate is fantastic.
