5 week old chicks

I am new to raising chickens and know only what i have read. Iam going to pick up 5, 5 week old chicks tomorrow. I thought i was getting 6 month old layers, and designed a coop and run for that age! Anyway i dont think at 5 weeks they will be able to get on the bars..so where do they sleep at that age??! Any special considerations i need to take into account?

5 week old chicks can fly up over 3 feet. How high are your roosts?

They start at just over a foot! So i guess i am good!!

While they can make it onto the roosts and use them at that age, don't be surprised if they all start off by sleeping on the floor. In many cases chicks have to be taught to use the roost bars, either by watching older birds or with some human intervention.
