I am have been trying to get them to let me to hold them but they still are not keen on it. So, I was wondering if dried meal worms would help me to get them to be more at easy when I try to hold them. If I give them meal worms do I need to also give them grit just wanted to double check before I started feeding them the meal worms.Or if anyone else has any other ideas please give them to me I am new to this chicken thing. But, I have a blast the other day I just got two more chicks to add to my chicken family.

Yes, if you are feeding them any other food than just chick feed, you need to give them chick grit.
I am convinced that chicks go thru a fear period just like puppies do. Take it slow and move your hand slowly. Come at them from the side, not down from above. They may perceive coming down from above as something stalking them. You can use their curiosity to your advantage by teaching them to come to you by finger tapping. Put a bit of "goodie" under the palm of your hand when you rest 4 fingers on the ground and softly "drum" them. As the chicks come to investigate, move you hand slowly back away from them so they can see the "goodie" They will learn to come running when you fdrum your fingers thusly so they can get their treat.
Best,
Karen

Thanks so much for your advice I will try that. I will also grab some grit on the way home. Also how long do the chicks need to have grit with their treats?

Until they are scratching around outside in the dirt.

Does the grit go into the chicks food? How do I give it to them?

Do I give it to them before or aftet I give them the treat?
