I have 4 easter egger chicks and would appreciate help sexing them. I think one is a roo for sure...I am hoping they all are not boys as I am only allowed hens due to the noise by-law.

Please tell me what my babies are.

The buff chick I think is a boy. He was getting pink at 3 1/2 weeks.

Thanks so much!

Just a few notes to add...

the two Yellow chicks (one hatched about 12 to 24 hours earlier than the rest) - both look the same except the early hatcher is a bit bigger.
- both are getting white/cream coloured feathers. solid colour, no barring visible so far.
- both are more slow to feather than the other 2 chicks.
- both had a little flat spot where the comb should be until about 4 weeks old - the early hatcher #1 comb is a bit bigger.
- both have finer-boned legs and they are light coloured legs but starting to get shaded grey on the front.

The Chipmunk chick
- getting brown and black barred feathers.
- pea comb started getting pink at 4 1/2 weeks, but still not as pink as the buff chick.
- EE greyish green legs

The Buff chick
- getting cream and brown barred feathers
- straight comb, started early before I could see the chipmunk chicks comb developing, started turning pink at 3 weeks
- greyish legs, but not as dark as the chipmunk chick
- boldest and most curious of all 4

Thanks everyone for your replies. At least they all are not boys.

They all were from the same EE rooster and various EE hens. The chipmunk was from a blue egg and the others were from green eggs. I set 6 but only 4 hatched.

Oh, and I just realized the two yellow chicks are not getting much of a tail. Maybe one will be rumpless?

Hi Nicole,
Thanks! She was one of the broodies - she and her bearded sister sat on the eggs and are raising the chicks together.
