I was going to take these birds this weekend, so am concerned about possible illnesses… however it does seem usual that this would be a respiratory disease with the swelling behind the eye on the cheek, and no other symptoms? Maybe?

Can respiratory illnesses cause swelling on other places other than the upper nasal cavity and the infraorbital sinus?It's hard to know what's causing the swelling.
Respiratory illness is something that comes mind.
As for taking birds, no matter from whom or where, if there's something going on that causes you to take pause, then pass them up - or that's what I would do.
Again, no one can say definite one way or another unless there's some testing done.
