You can't make a post like that without telling us how Andrew! I'm guessing you are referring to the vent-sexing or maybe the feather sexing but I think both of those need to be done very early. We're a little late in the game now.

Thanks for all the feedback on the spurs. If they don't appear for that long, that explains why all the websites don't bother talking about it.

Guess what. My son accidentally stepped on the little Brahma's foot yesterday. She chirped loudly and has been limping around ever since. I looked at it this morning and the main part of her foot is swollen & looks a bit black & blue. As much as we're all angry with my son, I realize this stuff happens & anger certainly doesn't make it any better.
Has anyone experienced this before? Will time take care of the healing?

Or you could have about a 95% accuracy if you've taken expensive lengthy training courses on how to identify chicken genitalia, but that's not really feasible for the backyard farmer.
