5 year old hen possibly laying again?

I have a 5 year old hen that we believed was done laying now she is doing the submissive squat is that normal for nonlaying hens or is she laying again?

2-3 years is the typical laying age and retiring after. However, a hen will continue laying throughout their lives.

Entirely possible. She might have enough hormones going that she's reacting like a layer/potential layer would. She may surprise you and begin laying again, maybe at a reduced rate, or may just stop squatting after a few weeks or months without ever producing an egg.

Thanks for the feedback I just checked to see if she was still laying and her hip bones have enough spacing between and she has layers an egg

I've had hens lay up to 7 years. Slowed down a lot though
