$50 and $100 Bills Counterfeits

Pennys would not be worth much at all at a scrap yard. Stick with copper coils and such.
Since 1982 a penny is only made up of 97.5% zinc and 2.5% copper.
It would only take about 7260 pennies to get a pound of copper.(If my math is correct)

With all those fake bills circulating around makes you think of China, they are famous for making fake stuff and bringing it here to the US. Sorry couldn't resist.

Just today I paid $20 bill for a $10 purchase and the cashier held it up to the light before accepting it. I asked her what she was looking for. She said she was looking for the Andrew Jackson watermark to match the Andrew Jackson on the bill. She said counterfeiters have found a way to turn a $5 bill into a $100 bill, so if they mark it with that pen, it will pass as a real bill, but if you hold it up to the light the watermark would be Lincoln instead of Ben Franklin. Learn something new every day.

Jjust when I was going to cut up all my credit cards and go cash only! Now I think I will just use one credit card and pay it off each month online.

I never bothered checking my money, but will do so from now on.Stinks though that a bank can pass on bad money, and then you are out that money if someone else determines it is a fake.

I think I will do some research and find out how to Identify bogus bills, then when a cashier hands me my change I will check it. If there are any bad ones I will tell them sorry it's a fake give me another. That ought to ruffle some feathers but I will get good bills right LOL what a hoot that would be, Ok now I am on a mission hoping I get a bad bill hehehehe.

Huh. I feel so naive. It had never crossed my mind that someone would go to such ingenious measures to counterfeit money. When I was a cashier it stunned me the elaborate plans people put into place to shoplift. Again, it had never crossed my mind to do some of the stuff they got up to. I sorta feel like a country bumpkin. Sorta makes you wish for a can of Scam Repellent.
Or a bullwhip.

You'd be surprised what "ingenious" things people think of to break rules. I worked as a supervisor at a major American amusement park for four years. You would not believe the things people did to their kids' shoes to try to make their kids seem taller and be able to ride the coasters.

I have a friend that went down for counterfeiting. She was using an ink jet an it took her being ratted out to get caught. That being said, most counterfeiting is done my the governments of other country's. Thats why the government cant stop it.
