I have had my blueys in the garage until tonight - they are in their house in the dog kennel. It is 50 degrees - they have shavings for bedding and the house has a screen and blanket over the top. The house is made of ship lap so there aren't any drafts.

Do I need to put the heat lamp on?

I say no. Mine went out at 3 weeks with 25 degree nights and never went under their heat lamp. Ducks naturally tolerate cold weather and never mind the rain. Mine were out in hail the other night trying to catch it as it fell, crazy ducks!

How old are they? I used a heat lamp on my baby mallard until 4 weeks then they went to the garage for 2 weeks no heat lamp after 2 days then went outside with the big ones..at 6 weeks now are 8 weeks and fully feathered...
