55 Swedish Flowering Hens

My Greenfire 55 Flowery Hens are now 7 weeks old. So far, most don’t like to be handled but seem to like my company. Because I’ve decided to specialize in green egg layers, I’ve decided not to breed the 55’s. I have 5 cockerels to rehome.

I live in North Texas, just north of Fort Worth. Have you found anyone in your area raising the breed? How long have you raised the 55 Flowery Hens? My pullets are becoming super sweet. The cockerels are pains in the butt. I see freezer camp in their future!

I do not know anyone else breeding the 55. I sure would like to though. I need new blood other than the GFF bloodline. I have been breeding them about 2years.

It looks like Greenfire Farms is the place to get 55 Flowery hens! For those of you who have both 55's and SFH, which do you prefer? Why? I live in Southern NH so cold hardiness is important. Thanks for your thoughts and suggestions.

I'd look around before going straight to GFFs if you care about money. They've been out long enough now that you might find someone raising them and selling them a lot cheaper.
I've got some and they don't lay as well as advertised. Mine lay decent size eggs but not as large as some of my other leghorns and they don't lay as much. I still haven't gotten any eggs from them since this winter broke. Every other varieties I have at least have laid a few.
I do like them though.
