59 eggs on day 15

OK. So out of 60 eggs....

2 human error eggs lost
8 dead in shell
1 random chick death
3 deformed chick deaths (culls)
3 still attempting to hatch
22 empty/no development at all eggs.

Which leaves me with 21(24) chicks.

35% or 1/3 of the eggs showed 0 development. Is that normal for shipped eggs, or does this guy's fertility really stink?

Babies! Looks like all jumbo browns except for 3.
One is Italian? (yellow with brown stripes)
One is white (yellow)

No clue what the third is. It's yellow with a gray spot on the back of its head and butt.

All cute!

could be shipping, could be fertility
quail are weird and one male should really only be with 2-3 hens
but then you run into space issues and such

With shipped eggs sometimes you can get a mixture of causes for hatch failure with the only obvious one that comes to mind being clear eggs. X-ray, older stock, bacterial infection can render similar results e.g. weak and or deformed chicks. It would be to hard differentiate without some serious probing. To revitalize my quail stock I've always used the same source for eggs, and over the years have some idea of what is going on on their end from results in my incubators.
