5ft blk snake in ducks pen today

Scared me to death and thankfully I had just let them out and the snake didn't get away but how can I prevent this?! It's hard to find chickens in my area and I really can't lose mine , we have snake away that I use outside of my dog kennel but now with chickens they would eat it , anything non toxic to chickens I could use?

Pfffft flipin 'eck here I am moanin' about slugs and you have 5 ft snakes lol. Can't believe it is such a common problem that there is a repellent lol. I'm interested to follow this. What COULD you do? At least with slugs if you don't want too kill them you can chuck 'em on the compost. I'm guessing a container full of 5 ft snakes wouldn't be the best idea lol

Haha,well I live in KY so we usually have a lot of snakes in the summer,a couple years ago one managed to get in the house ,

not fun . Slugs would be so much better !

that's what we call a chicken snake here in Texas, I find one nearly weekly, 5 ft is actually not that big, they get huge
