Chicks can stay in the hatcher up to 48 hours after hatch, and should stay at least until fluffed and dry. You will be fine![]()
They can live on the yolk for three days.
I like to get them out within one day though. Try to not remove them when there are pips but if you have to(Sometimes they will start causing trouble) spray some warm water from a clean water bottle or toss in a wet paper towel.
I think I have the hatch cam working now!
I had to use Internet explorer but it is staying up now.

Mine are just sitting there looking all boring and egg-like too.Yay! Now I can take breaks from obsessing over my hatch to obsess over your webcam!![]()
It is a relief to see other eggs just sitting there, all egg like.
Thanks guys! I figured they'd be okay but wanted to be sure. Everyone has been uber helpful! If any of y'all are ever in my neck of the middle of nowhere, I'll cook y'all dinner. Lol.![]()
So since none of mine have pipped yet, I changed my mind about hatching upright. I know, Ron, that you recommend hatching upright...but I had been panicky all afternoon worrying about chicks pipping upside down. I suffer from severe anxiety, and I just couldn't take it anymore! So I took them out of the carton and laid them sideways.![]()
I am so glad I did. My anxiety is goneand now I get to see them rockin' away...which all 7 are doing a lot!![]()
I wonder if the first one to rock will be the first one to hatch? Hmmm....I remember which ones I saw rock in which order...I'll have to write that down and see if they hatch in sequence to the rocking!
