Anyone have silkie eggs they are selling, looking for some for this hatch
Quote: What are the 2 types you found?? I'm going to hatch BBS Imported Orps and I am toying with the idea of hatching some BLRW….I better get on things so I've got my eggies in time to set.
OMG OMG OMG!!! You are THE BEST!!!! I'll be meeting up with you for the egg delivery, can I pick it up then? How much is it?Blarneyeggs...don't know if you've checked FB yet, but I got your ornament!! YAY!
What I struggle with is….'Gee, where is the post that pointed me to that web~site I really wanted to read?' Cause there's no finding it on this thread!Yeah! I was down 300+ messages in very short order. I just jumped to the end. Still don't know if I'll be hatching anything with y'all. The girls are NOT cooperating!![]()
Quote: I'm embarrassed to tell you what DH keeps this heat box at, but lets put it this way, tank tops and shorts are in order. I don't know what I'll do when I go through the change….toss him out? Although I'm enjoying the toasty~ness right this moment. Cleaned 3 coops and 2 goat pens this morning before the freezing rain came…well, got MOST of it done before the freezing rain and now I'M freezin! Nothing like getting soaked through to make you appreciate a hot cup a tea!
is it bad that ive read every single post on this thread? ...![]()
Heck no! I've read every post and check back multiple times through the day. Just so I don't get too far behind.Okay okay, I'm BORED.

Is anyone setting anything besides chicken eggs? Some of the set dates are getting close but I haven't noticed if anyone was doing any other types.
I was considering some more ancona duck eggs, but I found two of the types of chickens I REALLY want so I am just doing them. I'll do my next set of anconas after the NYD ones hatch.Oh and I just candled my 3 ducks due on friday and all three are still alive and kicking!

I have a question re incubators.
Everyone suggests 70 degrees for the room the incubator is in. My poor old furnace is NOT gonna get this house reliably to 70 degrees no mater WHAT I do to it. I do have an inside (the most interior room in the house) closet that stays pretty stable at 60 degrees. Would this be sufficient or am I just out of luck? I'll take advice!
Holy cow if my house was that warm if melt, we stay at a balmy 62

You will be one made person, the change sucks. I have been going through it for two years started at 46. You heat up like someone set you on fire. You sweat all night and day. It has been so bad in the summer it has brought me to tears
Getting old is not for sissies....YIKES!!! Are you trying to scare me? cause it worked!
Oh yes, the are very sweet!
This group of babies has stolen my heart… I think they are the perfect starter flock too, BCMarans cockerel, 2 BCM pullets, an EE Pullet, and 2 Bantam Cochin Pullets. They were raised up by my best girl, and faithful broody, 'Popcorn', she taught them to run to me across the yard and call to me if I pass a window inside.![]()
Same here. I try to keep mine right around 60-65. Any warmer than that and I feel like I am suffocating.Holy cow if my house was that warm if melt, we stay at a balmy 62
YES!Does anyone else just keep looking at the calendar and counting.... then the next day count again? This may kill me yet, the waiting that is. Waiting.....Nope not time yet....![]()
I am getting a dozen Swedish Flower Hens from a seller on eBay with good feedback for eggs and a dozen Lavender Orpingtons from a local seller. What are the 2 types you found?? I'm going to hatch BBS Imported Orps and I am toying with the idea of hatching some BLRW….I better get on things so I've got my eggies in time to set.
It does suck ... a LOT. I started before 30 because I had to have a hysterectomy for health reasons. Even past the worst of it my body chemistry is still different. I used to get cold so easy, it seemed I was never truly warm. Now I'm the opposite. I am always hot and if I don't have enough cool air moving I feel like I can't even breath. No fun at all.You will be one made person, the change sucks. I have been going through it for two years started at 46. You heat up like someone set you on fire. You sweat all night and day.
