99.5 at egg level. I do have to set mine to 102 to get it to 99.5 at egg level. The Genesis is fan forced so there is not a top and bottom temperature to work with. Some of the new style ones with the controls on the top have trouble getting the temp correct. GQF is aware of the problem and they should send you a new top for your incubator.
If you can keep the room above 60 you should be fine.
A couple things you can do, wrap the sides with cardboard, towels or blankets, just don't block any vents. That will hold more heat in AND keep it from cycling so much which should steady the temps some.Sadly no closet in this house that has a door. This old farm house has like 3 closets total in it. Best I could do was a room like 8x10ft or so with two closed doors but plaster falling off wall where kids picked the wall apart in some spots. That's where I have it atm with the heater in there set for 70 and sitting on the floor so bator 2 feet higher on table should be 70+ around it on out side. May bump heater up to 75 if I cant get it to hold temp at night.
Contact GQF via email and give them the serial number and information about what is going on. They handle the warranty regardless of where it was purchased.Do you have to contact them about it or do they auto send? I just got it this year so newer controls but I don't know who I ordered it through.
Mine came, but only because they were mailed out before the storm (Dec 2nd), we are hatching in between Christmas and New Years so we can be here for the hatch.
You can go to their website and contact them.
oppps Ron is on top of it
I have towel under it to help keep it from pulling cold from wooden table. Thought of putting something on top but leave vent open. I have the red plug in top trying to help steady the air flow some.A couple things you can do, wrap the sides with cardboard, towels or blankets, just don't block any vents. If you have room in one of those doorless closets, Hang a blanket, shower curtain or sheet over the doorway like a curtain.
The things we do to be able to candle.![]()
The only place I have that stays a relatively constant temperature is the basement. It's about 50 down there lately.
The rest of the house is zoned heat with programmable thermostats. So it ranges from 62 to 80 depending on time of year and time of day.
Having them in the basement also keeps me from wasting time and constantly checking them.![]()
Adding a high/low set limit alarm thermometer will put my mind more at ease. Hopefully I'll hear it upstairs. Maybe I need a baby monitor too.
Get an air duster and carefully clean the sensor in the control unit.I have towel under it to help keep it from pulling cold from wooden table. Thought of putting something on top but leave vent open. I have the red plug in top trying to help steady the air flow some.
Thank you everyone for all the help. I will contact them about the top.
