Thanks for the info. I will definitely be doing this when I get home. How do you think they should be rotated? One more thing. Today I rotated my eggs in my LG. For new still air LG users it's a good idea to do this occasionally to avoid certain eggs from always being in the cool spot, and others being in the warm spot. When I candled there was a clear difference in the development of the ones in the warm and the cool spots.![]()
Nice that leaves you with 32. I promise every winter I'm not going to hatch that many. This year I kept that promise and only set 14 for the NYD hatch, butttttttttt I'm already collecting for my birthday hatch, which is Jan 25. Everyone will hatch and incubator will be ready for that hatch. How can they say anything to a birthday hatch, it is your day after all to do what you want, rightOkay I promise not to set any more egss ,,I said to the wife,,Promise,,,,52 in the bator and another 8 under that barred pullet,,,,,HAHAAHAH I got 20 already sold to to different Peeps,,,Good Good..

Anyone else sick to death of the frozen waterers? DH says more snow on the way here too. Arrrrgh! I noticed this morning how much further South in the sky the sun is coming up, can't wait for the winter solstice, and more light.
I use the rubber water dishes in two of my smaller coops and heated dog bowls in the other two. But I am going to buy 2 more as I'm not sure if they get any water in the morning before it freezes. With the rubber bowls, you just turn over and stomp ice comes out then you refill easy pezy
Yuck. don't like cold or the darkness, just switched out the kitchen lights for daylight bulbs to make things brighter, same for the duccle's in the garage they also have daylight bulbs, not helping though only one is laying, but that's okay because of the birthday hatch they will be laying by then![]()
I bet you feel the same as I do.. there is a difference with the cold, if the sun is out and no wind, then cloudy and wind. It was 12* this morning and the sun was out and no wind, actually enjoyed going out this morning nice and crisp, good for the soul.
Oh so cute
Well gotta go, I'm putting up the Christmas tree today, while listening to Pandora Country Christmas station, awesome music by many artist and songs you don't hear on the radio.
I've missed doing it a couple times. I can't even wait till they get real frozen or they'll never thaw by morning in my 55 degree basement. The ones closest to the door may have even gotten more ice.Funny you say that because that has been my intention every single night since the cold set in. Not once have I done it. Laziness sets in every evening and I don't want to deal with it. So, instead of taking that extra 5 minutes in the evening, I spend 45 every morning complaining about it. Lol, I have issues, I think!![]()

Excellent point, I was so glad to get mine moved to the cabinet. It was almost impossible with 47 on the floor of the LG, I knew I was going to miss some. One more thing. Those are the best. They work well with birdbath heaters too....
