So wait a second! You can get eggs from the store and they will hatch? And I didn't know some said fertile on them that's sweet I might have to try that Thats real awesome

I think most people buy their eggs from Trader Joes.

I remember someone on here mentioned very recently that some stores are even starting to sell green fertile eggs.

Very exciting!!!!!!

But keep it in the incubator with lid on and don't open it until the full hatch is complete. It needs the humidity high otherwise it can become shirink wrapped inside the egg.

that wont be good.

funny thing, when we hatched our very first chicks under our broody we didn't follow any rules. we went against them and I didn't know!
none of our chicks even died!

we had a hen crush our piped egg inward....th only affect of this was the rooster ended up having a crooked toe.




we also had hens peck the egg of of my other rooster eggy.

we had two chicks pecked in the head too. we took them home and put them in the brooder.....yeah. first hatch didn't go too well.


even though I am hatching in my incubator, im still scared something bad will happen.....I don't want an internal pip or a wrong head placement.....or or....IDK!!!!!



im just hoping all will hatch and be safe...I will pray!

I set on the 11th so I am on day 11. As far as I know all leghorns do have white ears and lay white eggs.

lol. a little OE obsessed.

I am currently hatching 36/36 eggs. All are still swimming. Still at 100% hatch rate. The leghorns are the white one's in the pic. Except there is also a brown leghorn in the mix so I am not sure how many of hers are in there. I only have two white leghorns. Then the one brown leghorn.

are these grocery store eggs? that's an awesome hatch rate so far!!!

I can only take about an 8 minute video and it hasnt made progress since the picture I think its tired haha

my first hatched chick took 12 hours! all night long! in the morning we had a little wet fuzzy!

Yea me too haha I didn't think the stores had green eggs I thought just brown and white maybe soon blue eggs from the easter eggers haha
