For some reason my phone only gave me 1/2 the photo, but here are 7 of the bakers dozen!

They took a break for awhile, but we have 3 more zipping and a few others pipped. One is a BCM (shipped) with a detached and saddle cell...and it externally pipped 1/2 way down the shell, an inch from the line we drew. We put it with the pip up so it can breath (it was bubbling with each breath with big end up). Clearly it is in the wrong position. Should we just moisten the membrane every few hours and see what happens?

Oh and Chicken Little is doing fine. Made her a sweater tonight out of half of a leg warmer. The ankle part went around her head. I cut slits for her wings.


This will cover her bare spots and protect the stitches. Now I have to make one for Long John Silver.

Oh, and thanks for the chicken dreams!

I dreamed I looked in on my eggs and the chicks and the quail exploded out of the eggs and ran up my arms and crawled inside my shirt.

This is so great..you are so awesome! Lucky chicken. Has a good mama.

My eggs went into lock down last night because I needed room to set a bunch of new eggs in the incubator that arrived in the mail yesterday ! (my Christmas present)

I may have to change my signature to "Addicted to Hatching" I have three sets going right now and am at full capacity.

im not sure if you guys will be able to help but one of my chickens is acting weird today. while the others are out foraging she just keeps walking in and out of the goat housemaking a lot of noise. and she also keeps going on top of the piles of hay I have out for the goats and making a nest between the corner and the hay but then she leaves right away looking at the ceiling making a bunch of noise. she seems okay other than the fact she's running around making so much noise. this chicken always seems a little morestressedthan the rest of them but today especially so.

LOL I know just what you mean - even though I have 3 Silkies that hatched, I am dying to see what hatches from my friend's barnyard mix eggs, the one we hatched a couple of weeks ago is so cute!

Silkie babies?? Have you posted photos of them, and I missed out? I love baby silkies.

Ron ..How are those U of A blue ? They doing well..?

they are at the egg farm in a breeding pen. They have not fired up yet--Lights did not get turned on for them soon enough. I will be hatching eggs from them soon I hope.

I need to get a report on them today.

What breed is she? How old is she? Could she be going broody?

She is a layer already? It sounds like she is working on an egg and maybe even going broody.

Check her for a stuck egg but she sounds fine. Hens with a stuck egg walk like something is hurting them.

hmmm, and probably because it is hurting her if she has a stuck egg. Here comes a double or triple yolker. Maybe. Really though, hope she is ok. Try and watch where she ends up, and watch for the egg.
