thanks, had one hatch 12hrs earlier than the rest and it is climbing all over eggs and getting crazyAs soon as they are dry as long as it won't shrink wrap the eggs still hatching. You can wait as much as 2 days.

I was playing around this morning with some eggs!
be careful with your heat here if you get the whole brooder at 95 it will be too hot for the chicks. they need a spot to cool off and a spot to warm up . good luck and watch them growthanks for the help guys! my brooder is at 95. I didn't realize how small it is for these chicks... it will be fine for now but I might have to set up another one lol. where did everyone get big storage totes? I got the biggest one at Wal-Mart and they are gonna out grow it soon
Believe it! Maybe it's hatched by now, I'm behind here.![]()
I think with a small batch of chicks 50 or less the goal should always be 100% survival . wont always happen because of factors like vigor of the chicks one got crushed by the waterer falling one just doesn't do well and dies. listen to them and they will tell you a lot ..distress cheeping usually means too hot too cold hungry thirsty???? but when you look in they are running in and out of the heat with happy chirps some sleeping . some eating some drinking you have everything about right in their world.another question i have, if you're doing everything right and no diseases pop up,are there high survival rates?
