5x6 foot run big enough for 3 chickens?

Since coop means different things to different people, I'm going to use house and run. For the house, the part with their roosts and nest box, you need 4 sq ft per bird, bare minimum. For the run, where they can get out and stretch their legs and exercise, then need 10 sq ft per bird, bare minimum.

If you are starting from scratch, you might want to look into an elevated house in a run. I have a 10x10 dog kennel that's been reinforced with hardwire mesh as my run, and inside it is a 4x4 house that's 3 foot off the ground. So they can go inside the house, under it, on top of it, and still have 100 sq ft of space on the ground to play.
Yes, these are bare minimum but acceptable measurements. But keep in mind these measurments do not include nesting area. If the nests are off the floor enough that the chickens can walk underneath them, say about 18 inches off the floor, then they aren't taking up living floor space. Otherwise make the living space bigger to include the nests. If you never get more than 3 chickens 1 nest would work. Good luck with only having 3 chickens. Chicken math is real!
