My oldest Arancaus(sp?)/Americaunas(sp?) chick AKA slim shady has taken to treating the new 5 bantams as his/her children. protecting them against my brother hahaha.

so my 5 itty bitty bantams have completely kicked my 6 three week old Araucanas/Americanas out of the big brooder home and into the tiny hamster cage lol

I cannot go into these places without coming out with something.

Good thing our local feed store, you have to order your chicks, lol.
Of course I buy eggs for incubating. That can be just as bad!
Congrats on your new chicks, enjoy them.

I told my hubby I was going to church and went to a chicken swap and was proud of myself only bringing home 2 cochins.

i will enjoy them very much. they have scared my ameracaunas out of the heated brooder home and onto their "porch" it's so funny because they're entire bodies are only about the size of the olders ones' heads

Not to worry A friend gave me 7 americaunas tha were 9 days old. I have never had chickens before. I went to buy supplies the next day came home with 4 more chicks and just 3 days ago bought 6 golden comet pullets. I still don't have a coop yet. We will have to get it up before may when they will be ready to go out.

yeah im working on putting up a fence and then ill probably build a coop myself. or try to anyway xp

If we were in the country I'm sure my DH would be like that too;)

so now for those of you who saw my first posts probably remember my black ameracaunas named slim shady. he has apparantly decided that he is the father of my bantams. he will let me pick them up but he pecks at my brother if he goes anywhere near them
