~6 weeks ago, I plucked 4 chicks from the "americana pullets" bin at the feed store. We all know that means EEs, and I'm also starting to think the 2nd word was off-base as well. #2 and #3 puff up their chests and fly at each other a lot, but #2 always starts it. #3 has bigger spur buds than all the rest, and it looks like it's going to have a greyish head and a red/white body? #4 is the friendliest and #1 has had slower feathering than the rest. Thanks for your help

I am in the same boat I think as you.... out of 4 "Americanas" aka EE's from the farm store I think I may have two possible roos... I can't help really because these are my first EE's but I was reading a posts the other day that said the roos should have three vertical rows to their comb and femaes one. Again, not sure if that helps you, I would vote pullets for all though from what I see yours dont have the tree truck legs that mine do and mine are only 4 weeks. Fortunately for me I wouldn't mind a roo for breeding. Good luck!

They all look like girls to me. At first I was a bit iffy on #3 but I definitely see female characteristics.

#3 is the one that concerns me the most too! I'll update this thread with pics when they start laying eggs (hopefully!). My daughter will be relieved that there will be no rehoming (we can't have roosters) like there was last year (ah, the EE pullet that wasn't, also might be why i'm paranoid this time around). Her favorite is #4, which she calls Chili or Tinkerbell, depending on her mood.

Not sure what ya got there, but I sure wouldn't go by the play sparring in my opinion and in my flock as babies the girls played as hard as the boys, I sure hope you got the girls you were wanting though. they sure are cuties!
