I JUST WENT THROUGH THIS WITH THEM 2 MONTHS AGO!!!

Im not sure what to do at this point as I have an order to fill before this auction-SO I may be forced to cancel this auction!!!! Im afraid I wont be able to fill this auction order at all for a bit now. I would need to save all eggs for my existing order:-( 3 days ago I noticed I got 3 eggs--ok I was happy then 2 eggs the next 2 the next then NONE today!!! Im not a happy camper!!!! I picked both girls up today and ..yup they growled hissed and threw a fit I put them down and they went right back to hunkering in corners-

ok SO FOR NOW PLEASE NO ONE BID:-( LET THE AUCTION RUN ITSELF OUT ..iM SO SORRY FOR THE PROBLEM..

JUSTME AND THE FLOCK...IF YOU WIN MY SILKIE AUCTION, THATS SHIPS APRIL4TH, i CAN SEE WHERE IM AT WITH THESE EGGS AND SEE IF i CAN SEND YOU SOME THEN TOO??? I CANT IN GOOD FAITH LET PEOPLE KEEP BIDDING AND MAKE THEN WAIT FOR EGGS. I had some great folks that waited before when they went broody I dont want to go through that again and put someone else through that...

They are!!! I even tried coaxing them with treats and such-I pick them up and put them on ladders to get cold air under their bellies you name it I try it-I have never seen or expected this breed to go so broody all the time

I still have the other girls Im counting on to get your eggs out:) Ive got 3 days so it shouldnt be a problem-but I tell you what..I will never post an auction for those eggs again unless I have them in a carton already and do a 24 hour auction to send them...They are gorgeous birds and so many folks have asked me for their eggs and now I just can't do it-to unreliable...After this I might just let them stay broody and hatch out babies because My incubator is full:-(

The 24hr auction may be a good idea.

maybe if they don't know about it.... reminds me of a funny pic I saw, I'm going to try and find it and post it.

ETA: Dang.. can't find the cartoon pic. Anyway, it was a pic of a lady walking into the house with a basket of chicken eggs as a chicken walked by with a baby in her arms (wings). It was cute.

Good luck with the broodies. I am just waiting for mine to start up. Red sexlinks aren't supposed to go broody well no one told this one. I think they just hold off until the end of their lives and make up for it then. It makes for a good reason to keep her around though. She is at least 6yrs probably more like 8 and doesn't lay much but she sure does a good job raising babies. It would be really nice if she would start next saturday as my bator is full already and I still have at least 2 dozen coming to set.
