I posted about this chick yesterday, but her condition has continued to decline and I'm looking for more input. This morning she began exhibiting the head motion shown in the attached video.

She has not grown since I received her, though her appetite, water intake, and droppings appear normal. I've separated her from the other two chicks after they began pecking at her.

Current treatment:
• Avaplex + Humble Farms vitamins & electrolytes in her water
• Nutri-Drench administered by dripping on her beak (last night)
• Scrambled egg offered last night
• Vitamin E started this morning

She is lethargic, lays down frequently, and struggles to maintain balance while walking. Each day she seems to worsen. Any insight into what may be going on would be greatly appreciated.

She is likely very constipated from her crop down to the end.

First check for pasty butt. This is a condition where a plug of poop forms at the anus, blocking the ability to expel poop. You need to clean the opening. Do it without rubbing too harshly as this tissue is extremely fragile.

Then, administer chilled coconut oil, the solid form, up to one teaspoon per day, to unblock the digestive tract. Do this by freezing pea size bits of solid coconut oil and pushing each piece into the beak. Using this solid form of oil will avoid getting oil into the airway during this process.

Gently massage the crop, the bulging sac on the right side of the chest, until the oil is evenly distributed. The objective is to get the crop to empty.

No pasty butt but I will try what you recommended. Thank you!
