6 month old pullets still not showing much of a comb yet this normal

i have 2 bufforp cross pullets with feathers on feet . father is a rhode island/whiterock . i had a light brahma hen with feathers on feet maybe shes the mother. its weird because they have the color of buff orps one has alittle white on tail feathers other one has black on her they still only have nubs for combs this normal at 6 months.

Buff orps have small combs anyway, so it's not all that surprising. My girls (not BOs) had fairly small combs until they were getting ready to lay. At 7 months old, all are finally laying, but their combs were small and pink until about a month ago.
