6 months and not laying :(

I think that her egg-laying system isn't running quite smoothly yet. Still, a soft egg is something I think indicates not enough calcium in the diet, or an imbalance of calcium and phosphorus, not enough Vitamin D, or some combination of those things.

Got some poultry vitamins?

That's great that she's produced something. It's not unusual to get a soft egg or two when they first start laying. If everything is working normally and she has enough calcium in her diet she should start to produce eggs with hard shells soon though.

You don't have to leave them where they are laying. You can cook them and feed them to your chickens (if you have any) or your dog (if you have one) or else just throw them out.

I'd put a fake egg or two in the nest area though to encourage her to lay there.

I'll try to get some more ASAP.
She could be lacking calcium since she doesn't really care for anything

ever since her other half (brother) passed, she stopped touching food. We got her a drake but still, she rarely eats. It's already been like 3 months and she still refuses to eat.

I'm worried, I hope she's okay and starts producing hard shell eggs ! I'm still buying vitamins.
So does this mean I can't cook up the future eggs and eat as chicken eggs? I heard their good for migraines??

You certainly can eat the duck eggs. I just wouldn't eat the squishy ones. How about some frozen peas to stimulate her appetite?

You y=should be alright unless she continues to lay soft eggs. TYhe first few months they all seem to come out funny.
If it wasn't so early on I would worry about a calcium deficiency, but she's new to this. It's gonna take some practice.
