6 months old pullets not laying yet

Is it possible that my 6 month old pullets might not lay eggs until spring? I live in Michigan and winter is right around the corner.

Armada "Country Spirit " egg layer crumbles.
Best not to be feeding layer feed until they are actually laying. What is the protein percentage of that feed?

It's possible, especially without supplemental lighting. They may start up after the winter solstice, how long after remains to be seen.

Where I am (Far Rockaway, New York), any new birds not laying by now hold off until spring. The laying chickens also slow down after the fall moult. Production goes down weekly until the solstice week, when there are 1-2 eggs a day. Have never gotten eggs on solstice day.

It's 18% protein

Layer feed is for actively laying birds only. The high calcium content can cause damage to the kidneys of non-laying birds.

The pullets are in the same coop as my laying hens and give everyone layer feed. I can't give the pullets separate feed. I don't have that option.
