They are gorgeous!Yes I'm aware of cockerel there are 3 pullets and one cockerel. The reason I got barred rocks is because they are a auto sexing breed

It's possible, especially without supplemental lighting. They may start up after the winter solstice, how long after remains to be seen.Is it possible that my 6 month old pullets might not lay eggs until spring? I live in Michigan and winter is right around the corner.

Where I am (Far Rockaway, New York), any new birds not laying by now hold off until spring. The laying chickens also slow down after the fall moult. Production goes down weekly until the solstice week, when there are 1-2 eggs a day. Have never gotten eggs on solstice day.
