update on egg numbers:
there are 7 paint eggs and I will fill the box the with how ever many fit of the sizzle eggs. my birds don't lay in the morning so this is your total.

these eggs will be from my pen of silkies that has a 2x best in JR show splash silkie, 1 blue partridge and 1 blue best of breed winner with a paint silkie roo. all are bearded. This roo is a paint to black breeding. I will also include bonus eggs (these will all be marked) from my sizzle pen. this pen has splash sizzles that throw white with blue patched babies (not going to call these paint) and the roo from this pen is a very slightly marked (paint??)he only has about 3 black feathers so these will be bonus eggs.

I'll post a few pictures of the white patched babies from the bonus pen tomorrow.
this is the white very mildly spotted roo from my sizzle pen. he has one spot on his back and 1 on top of his head and one on his hackle but truely, 2 feathers on the back and one on the hackle and head. and he is white white, that buff that anyone might think they are seeing, is white.

sizzle mom- while she looks blue, she does have 2 or 3 black feathers.

I pack eggs well but I can't be responsible for what the PO does after they leave my hands. fertility has been checked and is very good. eggs will be shipped on monday as long as payment has arrived. (paypal please)

I'm updating this first page since there is some confusion of where the splash won, who owns the birds etc
http://www.centralmainebirdfanciers.org/CMBF_Fall_Show_2011_Results.htm
and the northern new england bird fanciers 2011 fall show.
the splash was shown at both of those shows by my son who is 10 in the jr show. he can't post in the BSA so I am. these are his birds, he takes care of them, preps them for show, also competes in jr showmanship and does very well. He uses the money he gets from selling chicks to buy better birds. We do not ship birds at this time. The sizzles are my birds, I am adult, I also take care of the sizzles and sell them as sizzles, or non frizzled sizzles but NOT as silkies because they have frizzle in the backround even if they look like silkies. I can't control what anyone does with their birds once they own them, that is up to them to decide if they want to breed them or just get eggs, or use the birds to hatch eggs from other chickens. I do counsel them about what makes this a good quality bird or what makes it a pet but I refuse to kill a bird because it has a non life threatening color mark, or extra toe, or non bearded. I just plan better for the next breeding and maybe that hen or roo is taken out of the breeding program. we all have them, it's all in what you do with them.

Can I ask where you got your "paint"and who told you that was what it was? You also can't get paint from breeding splash and blue to a "paint". Paint is black and white.

he is a paint. I know there is alot to learn about paint so I'm not about to say you can't get paint from paint over blue or splash. I don't think it's been proven yet that you can't.

OK, if he is paint, where/who did he come from and what are his parents?

Have you hatched from this breeding? (the silkie pen) roo looks like a severely washed out splash with a boatload of buff leakage...i understand we still a ton to learn on the paint gene but i can't see this breeding yielding paint babies.

This male is a paint, he is from my paint males over blk females. Lots of improving still needs to be done with the paints and he can
still produce paint chicks. He does have alot of the dun leak color, it is not buff.
Also you can get paint chicks from breeding to blue and white. If you breed them to a spl you get a spl paint color bc a friend of
mine has done this. I have also had a friend breed them to partridge and he has gotten paint chicks.
They say to help with skin color and other issuses to breed to blk but so far about anything goes

These are pics of his daddy and a few hens that this male came from.

thank you jen for posting this.

You are welcome!!
I just found this picture of him when he was a chick. He didn't hatch with any spots but the few he does have came in when he got bigger.

It's hard to get a clear paint male without the dun or buff coloring. A paint doesn't have to have tons of marks to be a paint, he can have one or a million.
